Bangladeshi handicrafts attract visitors in Pak fair
Wives of the diplomats of Bangladesh High Commi-ssion in Pakistan showcased handicrafts and traditional foods and sweets items of Bangladesh at the Pakistan Foreign Office Women Association Charity Bazar 2011 in Islamabad recently.
Bangladeshi food and handicraft attracted a large number of visitors including foreign diplomats, said a press release.
Pakistan Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar inaugurated the Bazar. She visited the Bangladesh stall and spoke high of the Bangladeshi products. She was presented a Nakshi Kantha of Bangladesh by the wife of Bangladesh High Commissioner Raw-shanara Hossain, the news release said.
The showcased items of Bangladesh stalls included jamdani, katan and cotton sarees, ladies three piece, maslin table cloths, bed cover, pearl ornaments and other decorative products. The traditional foods included chicken biriani, tehari, vegetable khichuri, beef biriani, egg curry and potato cutlets. Sweets included patisapta pitha, chom chom, golap jum, and Bangladeshi cottage cheese.
