China adopts spl plan to increase coop with Bangladesh
China has adopted a special plan to increase its cooperation with Bangladesh for further boosting up bilateral and trade relations between Beijing and Dhaka.
This was revealed today while a delegation of Communist Party of China (CPC) led by member of the Politburo of CPC Central Committee Lie Qi called on President Zillur Rahman at Bangabhaban today.
During the meeting, Lie Qi who is also the secretary of CPC Beijing committee apprised the President of his government’s keen interest in increasing its cooperation to Bangladesh in all sectors especially economy, trade, agriculture, education, infrastructure and science and ICT development.
The delegation was comprised of Vice Minister of CPC International Department Liu Jieyi, CPC Beijing Committee Standing Member and Secretary General Li Shiziang, Standing Member and head of information department Lu Wei, vice secretary general Li Zhijun, director general of Beijing Foreign Affairs Committee Zhao Huimin and Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Zhang Xianyi.
Welcoming the Chinese delegation at Bangabhaban President Rahman expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government for its assistance in socioeconomic development of Bangladesh since the country’s independence.
“We need more cooperation, more help from China,” Zillur Rahman said.
The President observed that Bangladesh-Myanmar-China road link via Chinese Kunming needs to be established soon to increase trade and cooperation between the neighboring countries of the region.
He recalled that father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman visited China in 1953 and 1957. “We believe in one-China policy,” the President said.
The Chinese delegation members laid emphasis on increasing the exchange of high level visits between the two countries to further strengthen the bilateral relations relation between Dhaka and Beijing.
