Japanese co to invest $1 m in Comilla EPZ
A Japan-Bangladesh joint venture company will invest about 1 million US dollars in the Comilla Export Processing Zone (EPZ) by setting up a toy manufacturing industry.
An agreement was signed between Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA) and Hashy Desh Company Limited in this regard in the BEPZA Complex on Tuesday.
AZM Azizur Rahman, general manager (investment promotion) of BEPZA and Takahiro Hashimoto, managing director of the Japanese company signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
BEPZA Excutive Chairman Major General ATM Shahidul Islam, Secretary Md Shawkat Nabi and General Manager (Public Relations) Mahmud Hasan, among others were present at the signing ceremony.
The investment is expected to create an employment opportunity for 205 Bangladeshi nationals.
