Ctg housing fair begins today

CHITTAGONG, OCT 11: A four-day housing fair starts in the port city from Wednesday.
Bangladesh Real Estate Dictionary (BD-RED) is organizing the fair, the ninth of its kind, at the auditorium of Institute of Engineers Bangladesh, Chittagong. Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation M Monjur Alam is expected to inaugurate the fair.
Mohammad Ilias Khan, chief executive of BD-RED, said 60 real estate and construction material producing companies will participate in the fair. The fair will be open for the visitors from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm till October 15, Khan added.
“There will be different discount offers from the realtors during the fair,” he also said.
On the eve of the fair, BD-RED organised a rally, Sustainable and Environment Friendly Housing, in front of Chittagong Press Club on Tuesday morning.
Abu Sufian, president of Chittagong Press Club, inaugurated the rally. He said the development of housing sector should be environment- friendly and proper legal action should be taken to stop unplanned housing for a beautiful and clean city.
Sufian urged the government to take firm steps to stop any unplanned housing in the city immediately, as such unplanned housing has created many environmental problems. He also said to save the biodiversity of the city, hill cutting must be stopped by any means.
The rally was attended by Mohammad Ilias Khan, Rabiul Islam, marketing manager of Nazrul Group, Nasiruddin Thotha, journalist, Bishawjit Pal, station manager of Radio Today, Shamim Rahman, director BD-RED, Prof Nazrul Islam and Amjad Hossen Mintu, among others.
