DHAKA, Oct 7 : Small and Medium Entrepreneurs Foundation (SMEF) has taken a programme to connect women entrepreneurs with established business houses and give better exposure for their existing and future enterprises. The programme titled “Business matchmaking for women entrepreneurs” aims at facilitating market linkage and outsourcing for them.
The programme was formally launched through a function in Dhaka on Wednesday.
“Women entrepreneurs have been facing problems while marketing their products. On the other hand, established entrepreneurs use sub-contracting to buy their products, so they need appropriate product suppliers,” said Syed Rezwanul Kabir, managing director of SMEF.
The aim of matchmaking is to create a linkage between the new and established entrepreneurs, where the established entrepreneurs will act as buyers and new ones will act as seller or supplier, he said.
Chittagong Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries (CWCCI) president Monowara Hakim Ali said, “This initiative will help Bangladeshi women take an effort in the international arena.”
She said that SME products manufactured by Bangladeshi women are competing well in the international market and urged the women entrepreneurs to continue producing quality SME products.
