Gvernment’s plan to increase industrial estates to 100
DHAKA, Jan 24: Industries Minister Dilip Barua said here today that the government has taken a plan to increase industrial estates to 100 from the existing 74 ones across the country. He also disclosed that a good number of projects would be taken to modernize Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC).
Blaming the previous governments for not taking steps to modernize the BSCIC, Dilip Barua said the government wants to see the organisation regaining its past glory by bringing dynamism in its activities.
The industries minister was speaking as the chief guest at the installation ceremony of the central committee of BSCIC Officers Association in the conference room of Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) in the city. Industries Secretary KH Masud Siddique and BSCIC chairman Fakrul Islam spoke on the occasion as the special guests.
Among others, BCIC chairman Golam Rabbani , president of BSCIC Officers Association M Shamsul Haque, vice-president M Ahsan Habib, secretary general M Majharul Islam and president of BSCIC Employees Union Quamrul Hassan also spoke.
