A high-powered delegation led by BKMEA president Fazlul Haque yesterday left Dhaka for South Africa and Botswana in order to increase export and attract investors.

The team of Bangladesh Knit Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) will attend the meetings with government’s employees and apex trading bodies of South Africa and Botswana.

Among the traders of South Africa, BKMEA will meet the leaders of Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Pretoria Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Minara Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Cape Town Regional Chambers.

The BKMEA Team will visit Botswana on Thursday to meet ministers and high officials. They will also meet with Botswana Confederation of Commerce, Industries and Manpower, Botswana Export manufacturers Association, Botswana Export Development and Investment Authorities.

Bangladeshi business bodies living at South Africa will accord reception to BKMEA team on Friday (October 9, 2009), says a press release. BKMEA expected that this tour would open the way to expansion of Bangladeshi products in these two countries along with attracting investors.
